| Like millions of his countrymen, his address was the ‘footpath’. He had known no home, nor parents. To still the pangs of hunger he did odd jobs, the odd picking of pockets, (he had nimble fingers). He was Ashok, and dreams he did have, dreams that took an edge, when he met Nimmo, a watchman’s daughter. One of his light fingered jobs put him in contact with a shady character and other denizens of House No. 44. There he found out that Nimmo, was a lure, a decoy, for the gang operating from House No. 44. He wanted to save her, and she wanted to reform him.
