Ashok Mehra (Rajesh Khanna) plays a rich industrialist who loses his wife during the birth of his only daughter. The daughter’ pining for mother’s love becomes kind of a revolt. At around this time’ Rajesh Khanna hires a photographer Raj Bedi (Raj Babbar)’ to work on his campaign. Who in turn employs a model to advertise the cosmetic products? Interestingly she has a striking resemblance to Ashok’s dead wife. But’ eventually Raj and Radha fall in love and get married. Things take a weird turn when Raj meets with an accident’ and is crippled for life and Radha has to work for Ashok as governess to bring up his daughter. Ashok is clueless about Radha’s marriage and he falls in love with her. On the other hand’ Raj starts suspecting his wife. Radha by this time has become quite close to the child and cannot think of being away from her. What happens next forms the crux of this movie about love and losing..
